Personally, . . .

I would not buy it as I do not feel Ruger special issues have much
chance for financial appreciation. Much of the promise of a special
edition is an increase in value over time.

However, if you are a true Ruger fan then it is a good deal simply to add a fairly limited edition to your collection.

Otherwise, it is not priced low enough that I would take it as a good
deal on this particular revolver which reflects the extent of my
interest.

This is a forum and I expect some Ruger fans will chime in with other opinions.

The new Blue book lists it at 500.00 for 100% (NIB)...If fired 365.00....

Special Editions need to be unfired or they have no more value than a standard issue.

Thanks for the feed back, very helpful. what would be a good cowboy gun for a first time buyer? not necessarily new but just good everyday shooter?

Search the auction sites, under $400 for a Ruger 50th Anniversary New Model Blackhawk .357 Magnum, NIB.

Hey, welcome to G&G !! I had a bounty hunter and it was a good, solid pistol.
