I can assure you, the U.S. Military does not have any plans to attack the "citizens" of the U.S. It will never, ever happen. Kent State was a huge mistake made in 1970 by the governor of Ohio, James Roads. A tragedy that hopefully this country has learned from, and I don't think it will ever happen again.

However, we may have a war inside the U.S. like this country has never seen before since the civil war. Calling it civil unrest might be a huge understatement and the national guard might very well be involved before it's all over. What I'm talking about is the planned "round up" of illegal aliens.

But, there is three things will need to happen before this "might" take place. First, if McCain becomes our next president. Second, if he places a lot of conservatives in his cabinet. Third, if we have a republican controlled congress. Then there "might" be a plan to "round up" the thousands, and thousands of illegal aliens already here in the U.S. And I don't think any of them are going to turn themselves in peacfully......that's for sure. We wont need a fence between Mexico and the U.S., we will need a wall.

Depending on if you feel like the illegal aliens should be given amnesty and have a "get out of jail free card" and continue to stay here in the U.S., this could be bad news. If you feel like the illegal aliens are breaking the law by crossing over the border and should be sent back to Mexico and other countries where they came from, this might be good news.

But if this does happen,........and this is a mighty big "if". Then we could see the biggest war inside the U.S. since the civil war. This would be the only reason that I believe the U.S. military will ever be fighting inside the U.S.


Now, back to the increase in the price of gas........The U.S. should had seen this coming way back in the 1973 during the OPEC oil embargo. We should had increased the oil production in Alaska and started research on hybrid cars, and quality built small cars, ethanol fuel and other alternatives a long, long time ago.

This was a little before my time, but I believe back in the early 1970's the only small cars that the U.S. was making at that time was the Ford Pinto and the Chevy Vega, lol. About that same time the U.S. started importing cars from Toyota, Honda, and later on Datsun(Nissan), Subaru and Mazda. GM, Ford and Chrysler laughed at the small Japanese cars. I don't think they are are laughing at them now are they?

Right now, there should be pipe lines all over the state of Alaska already in place. I believe Mooseman and many others are right, when they say we have the oil we need in the U.S. right now !

I know it's not a new idea.......that's the whole point ! We should have never stopped using it, and did more research on it. More research should have been done on processing ethanol so it would be economically feasible. But ethanol is just one of many options.

We are talking about the country that put a man on the moon. The country that made the atomic bomb. I know some farmers who make methane gas from cow manure and they operate all of their tractors, their trucks and even their own personal cars on it. I know of one man who uses hydro electric power from a small river and it generates so much electricity for his house that he sales some back to his electric power company.

The bottom line is the U.S. government should had seen this coming a long, long time ago and did something it then. Instead of waiting till gas is over $4.00 a gal. Now a lot of people in the the U.S. are panicking. Ethanol for cars is just one option out many we should had started research on a long, long time ago.

Followup on oil prices hitting $143.00 +.
This is more than scary - it is economically horrifying news.

American Airlines is having another big layoff this morning. Starbucks is closing 600 shops to let go of 12,000 people. The overall economy may have lost another 69.000 jobs in June. GM stock is the lowest since 1954.

I want to see a silver lining somewhere but honestly I just cannot.
If anyone has some good news please send it to me.

Yep... oil falls almost $4.00 a barrel today, and gas goes up to $4.15 a gallon, nice.... I was off though, I had said $4.25 by the 4th.

News today a major airline plans to eliminate jet service to Amarillo but will have three flights in smaller capacity prop driven planes due to fuel costs.

Gas in Clarendon (small city in the Texas Panhandle) hit $4.09 Saturday so
more people will be forced out of the city and this is not an isolated problem in the Texas Panhandle as farm communities are taking bigger hits than they can handle. Young people are, in a manner of speaking, stampeding out of the small farm towns.

NRAJOE... I used to be stationed in Dalou (sp?) Germany right out of Mosbach at a Nike Herc Missile site. Ever heard of it? Just curious.

Back on topic. My girlfriend and I are starting to create survival supplies. Canned food is great if we decide to stay put if it all falls apart. But I'm looking at stocking up on MREs for the immediate need but more so supplies where we could live off the land in the Colorado Rockies. Too bad I had to sell my 4X4 back in December. I think I know these mountains well enough for us to become Wolverines. If I could ever get some kind of job right now I'll be looking into a deer rifle and other nice to have supplies.

I almost sold my Mustang today until I told the guy he would have to put 91 octane in it. I told him that what he pays for premium today is what he will be paying for regular in a few weeks.

I just wonder what's going to happen before Bush leaves office. I think the elections and the change of power will set this all off. I give us till the end of the year for something to happen or not.

Maybe all the "super monitoring" of the American portion of the internet is telling that we are preparing too. To preserve our lives and liberty.
