I was In The U.S. Navy!

A tribute to all the men and women that have served. I'm a little closer to the U.S. Navy since I served with them. God bless the United States!

Sam, I'm just not myself today. I've got bronchitis and an inner-ear infection. The meds are worse than the symptoms. I feel like I've been ran over by a bus. I think one of my fingers just fell on the floor. You all gotta pray for me!

I love that hymn, and it still brings tears to my eyes, just as it did the first time, when I was seventeen. Only I didn't know why, back then. God bless America, and those who stand up, and defend her!! Anchors aweigh, Semper fi, Can do, Up and away, etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dad served in the Navy... he met my mother at Subic Bay....I, myself, was born at the Alameda Naval Station; to this day I can remember taking a tour of my dad's destroyer and his blue and white uniforms. All of the military have my thanks.

Thank you, MrsS! I remember all those places, and served all around there, during the Vietnam War. You are the owner of a rich, wonderful heritage! The folks of the Phillipines are great people! I knew a lot of them, serving in the Navy and Marines.

Seabee: As a child it was hard...I and my siblings were made fun of often for our olive skins and oriental features...today, as adults, we are the envy of many other cultures....especially in the winter!, LOL....we don't pale out at all! I am glad to have shared my navy memories with you.

Samuel.... No Jarheads on Frigates and Destroyers! We carried our own guns during Security Alerts.

But I do have the utmost respect for Uncle Sam's Misguided Children.

They go in first, and come out last. And they do it with fewer numbers and older gear.
