The cookout was a success, and fun!!!

Well, it's the day after the cookout, and we had a blast with our friends from G&G! I received the news from Midas this morning, and can understand why he wasn't able to make it. We sure missed him, and will keep him in our thoughts. Soonershooter, Soonerborn, Merlin45 and wife, Lizard and son, all made it, and we had a good visit, good feed, and fun target shooting. I wish everyone could have been here! We're talking about making it a yearly get together, so when we decide on the weekend, for next year, we'll post it, and any who can make it, will be welcomed to our place! CGO wouldn't let me have the camera, and was pretty busy, so she didn't get a lot of pictures, but there were other cameras here, and I'm sure they'll be posting more, and share the fun we had. Anyway, here's the ones that CGO took.

And here's the rest, the pic of the four hooligans is, left to right, Merlin, Scotty, Soonerborn, and Sooner Shooter. Lizard has the ear protectors in the wrong place, and CGO said it looked kinda like mickey mouse ears, from a visit to Disneyland !

It's a Yukon, from Sportmen's Guide, and if I remember correctly, it's under three hundred dollars. I don't remember the model, but you can use it on the low setting at up to 25 power, and on the high setting, at up to 100 power. The large lens is 100 mm, and it works pretty darn good, for the price!

Good to be able to put faces with a few of the names/members on G&G. Looked like a most excellent time. Wish I lived closer.

Thanks...hopefully Craig will see these pics too, and get another option in mind for a spotting scope as well.

I had a lot of fun. It was nice to see some of the guns others had, though I didn't shoot a lot of them. We pretty much had two tables full of hand guns and long guns that people were using.

SoonerShooter shared a neat little doodad for loading .22 cal magazines. I was really impressed with it's simplicity and functionality. I'm going to knock out some of those to share with people as little "Howdy" gifts.

We had to leave early because my boy had to go to work in Tulsa that evening (helping to set up the stage at the Tulsa opera for "Phantom of the Opera"). We had to go about 80 miles down the road from CGO & CB's where I dropped my boy off and saw the grand daughter, then another 110 back to my place. Along the way, I went into Tulsa to try to get some Federal .22 LR match ammo, but couldn't find any.

But, all in all, it was a good day. Nice to meet the people, had fun shooting, getting to know each other and talking about guns.

Maybe we can have regional G&G Forum gatherings: BBQ, shooting, stories, looking at firearms, etc....or a gathering that works in with the higher fuel prices?
