PS3?

Well, Traded in 58 games from previous systems and got a PS3.

I mostly wanted it because of it's Blu-Ray. I figure a Blu-Ray player costs about the same, so why not get the gaming ability with it? I'm a big gamer too, so it was only natural...heck even my "CrazyIvan" name came from a video game.

Anyhow, it is pretty awesome. Got some games and have already beat one of them.

I got "Uncharted," "Turok," "Time Crisis 4," and "Heavenly Sword."

Any of you fellow gamers have any opinions on some good games that you've played? I've read a lot of online reviews by critics, but it isn't as trusty as hearing it from people I know.

Thanks.

PS3 is over rated. It's basically a PS2 with blu ray. Since they keep dropping the price of the PS3 I guess it's about $100 more than a blu ray player. As far as games? GTA4 is out now I think.

Over rated? No, afraid not. The simple fact is game makers have not yet even begun to take advantage of what the PS3 is capable of. Mostly they've just ported PS2 games to work on the new system(as the newer ones are not compatible with older games). Give it a little longer and you'll see what it can do. I've got one, love it. The only games I've got for it right now are GTA4(GREATEST GAME EVER!!!!) and The Bourne Conspiracy, another great game if it wasn't so short.

Exactly...overrated as in the games offer hardly anything more than PS2 games. Why would anybody want to pay $400-$500 for that? I can see the blu ray thing kind of, but then again you have to spend like 40 bucks on blu ray discs. If they were going to utilize the capabilities of the system they should have done that before they released the system.

ps3 i wish

Wish I would have gone with the ps3. I instead went with the xbox 360 elite. And also the recently defunct HD DVD playerOne of the main reasons I went with xbox was the cheap hd dvd player. I thought oh microsoft supports it, it should be around for a while...ouch. HD in 1080p is an amazing viewing experience!
Anyways....I am a big fan of Call of Duty 4 on xbox live. I think sony has something like live? Great game though. I gave up a lot of hours when I picked that one up!

Blu-Ray Movies on Amazon are between $12 and $20, same as DVD's in the store. And, on Amazon, you get Free Shipping and (in most states) don't pay tax. So, where are you getting the $40 tag? Even at Best Buy, Blu-Ray DVD's are only between $25 and $30...

And, if you check this, you will see that $400 for a Blu-Ray player is just about the Median Price...

I saw them in a store for that price. It was a new release. It's been a while since I saw that price but 30 bucks for one dvd is still too much imo.

That's why I order them from Amazon.

GTA 4 was so-so... I was a bit upset that they took some previous content out (like buying your own houses, garage parking, some open areas like the country-side area in the last game and some other things). After doing the Bank Job, I was wondering what I was gonna spend all my money on. I cound't find anything, ended the game with just under a $1-Mil. Overall it was a good game. I had no interest in playing through it a second time though.

That's why you always play next to people who need to be accidentally slapped.

i agree, but for all you xbox people the reason they keep making new editions is the old ones dont last, you dont see ps3 elite bcuz the orginal one was made correctly. im not interseted in either, i play madden, mlb the show and guitar hero. wii's are great they dont have alot of the same games but they are still alot of fun.
