I just saw the Simpson's last night and it was the episode was the spoof on the 10 day waiting period to purchase a gun and the NRA (we are all a bunch of crazy gun slinging - gun craving monsters haha). Can't remember who has the aviator with Homer and the gun - but I LOL when I saw that scene on TV, funny funny.

I recall an episode where Homer said something to the effect of "Guns aren't for killing, guns are for hunting dangerous and delicious animals"

Or when Cheif Wiggum is breaking nuts open on his kitchen table with a Blued GP100.. ( I reckon it is, look at the grip... )

The regular cops seem to carry Pythons..

In their defense, they did do an episode where Lisa, the little wretch, talked the whole town into disarming themselves - even the cops!

Then Billy The Kid and his gang come to life to terrorize Springfield.

Homer set it right with a time machine - quicker than waiting for the NRA to handle it.....

A good comment on guns & crime.

The Hollywood take on the NRA that really pisses me off is from the comedy, Ruthless People.

The police are watching the ransom pickup by Ken Kessler in a Bozo the Clown mask. The pickup is interfered with by Earl Mott, who thinks he's as cool as Elvis and is a total, utter and complete moron. The police are trying to get the wife of a colthing magnate back alive.

The two police lieutenants handling the kidnapping holler at Earl with a loudhailer, "Give the bag to Bozo, drop your gun andn put your hands in the air!"

Earl goes, "Who said that?"

Lt. Walters observes to Lt. Bender, "This could be the stupidest man on the face of the earth. Perhaps we should shoot him."

"Who is this?" asks Earl.

Bender says, "It's the Police Department."

"Really?" says Earl. He does not drop his pistol.

"No, we're the National Rifle Association!" replies Bender sarcastically. What looks like every SWAT Team member on the West Coast pops up from concealment and draws down on Earl. Earl immediately drops his gun and raises his hands in surrender.

This is supposed to be funny. But that sequence says more than Hollywood ever wanted to reveal about how the entertainment industry views the National Rifle Association and gun owners in general. Isn't it nice that the Left Coast Liberals that infest showbiz think we're all psychotic?

I take their attitude with the ol' "grain of salt" - after all, when the SHTF, who will be left alive after the first couple weeks, the Hollyweird Elitists or the 'gun nuts'.......?
