Taurus PT709 SLIM...

Anyone know anything about the PT709 Slim? Anyone seen one yet? Anyone own one yet? Anyone fired one yet? Are they even out yet?

This is all I could find, it looks like it'll put the ruger and kel-tec .380's out of biz. Same size but in nine.

Thanks for the link. That SLIM looks better than my PF-9. Not that there is anything wrong with my PF-9.

Guess there will be more news eventually. Having had good luck with all my Mil Pros I will be purchasing this one just to try it out.

Taurus pt 709 slim

There is a review of the Taurus pt709 slim in the Aug/Sep 08 Guns & Ammo Handguns. Gets a pretty good review. Check it out.

I see all the specs on it except for the width. How slim is the Slim?

Has anyone actually shot one? Everything looks great but I'd like to hear from someone with experience shooting one.

From the review in Guns and Ammo Handguns, Aug/Sept 2008.

The thickness is just under one inch. No exact number given. None of my suppliers has one to sell as yet or I would already own it.

Not a single PT709 SLIM at the gun show today. Most dealers know next to nothing about them yet.

Same story, different gun show, different date. I am not giving up on the Slim but I am not waiting any longer to buy a 9mm in that size range. When they start to ship, I will have the first one that hits my dealers shop. In the mean time...

Having spent quite some time looking at the 24/7s in 9mm and .40 S&W this morning, I have made up my mind to order them both in the SS slide version while I wait. The price will be $318 for the 9mm and $319 for the .40 S&W. Can't go wrong at that price for the two guns. I am sure I can get $300 back for each later if and when my others finally ship.

How did you get your 24/7 .40 so cheap, I had to pay 394 out the door, that is so not fair, but I do love shooting it tho.

Depends on where you live and how well you know your supplier. Generally speaking, gun prices seem to be better in Texas than many other states. Lots of competition here so prices are lowered to get your business. Doesn't hurt to know your gun dealer on a first name basis and have his phone number in your cell phone.

Well...couldn't find anything at the site I normally visit.

Taurus International Manufacturing Inc

Is there a differnt site I do not have book marked? Do you have a link to the PT709 Slim info, Fangus?

I did find the 609Ti-13, 809B-17, 909B-10. All 9mm but certainly not the SLIM.

They look great. Been putting off buying a new 9MM until I see one for real. I want to hold and feel one not read about it. I like Taurus as a brand. I'm pretty excited about the slim.
