I bought a used Ruger Mark I. The sights were way off. The pistol was shooting way to the left and low of the centerline. So I drifted the rear sight and now it's shooting to the center of the target, but it's still shooting low. My rounds are consistently hitting between eight ring and the nine ring at 10 yards. Good groups but low.
The front sight looks like the blade can be drifted forwards or backwards, but I'm not sure. Did the Mark I come with a front sight that was adjustable for up and down? And which way should I drift it to bring up my point of impact. Backwards, correct?
No offense, but are you sure it's not you?
Left and low is a common problem for righties caused by bad grip, anticipating recoil, or jerking the trigger.
My apologies in advance if you have already ruled this out.

To raise the POI you must file the front sight blade down. Using a fine file, take one or two strokes off the top. Then shoot another group. Repeat the process until you are hitting dead on. Then touch up the blade with a blueing pen.
