It`s just crap

My day was.

I noticed a shop far away had a mini mauser stock, walnut ( hah! my ass is )

But, wood anyway, prolly beech. When I bought mine I chose the synthetic, its a bit squishy up the fore end. SO here`s a once ever opp, I`ll go buy it.

I rang them, some chick answers, very bubbly and guns? she dint know shit from shoe polish, but it was their ~OPEN DAY!!!~ bargains to the roof, and a sausage sizzle, open till five...

So I leave work at mid day ( saturday ) drive all the way there, no word of a lie, 300 minimum ppl at the counter. Seriously, 300.. but, one cash register.

It was 2:30pm, I said: I`m expletive deleted if I`m standing here till dark, and walked out.

I felt like slapping those stupid bums lining all 3 sides of the counter ( I garentold you, 300 of them ) waiting hours to save pennies on a box of primers or something.

I didn`t wanna save anything, I just wanted to buy that stock.. I won`t get another chance to get up there ( it`s 100 miles or more round trip ) anytime soon again.

I was as sour as cat piss all the way home.

That is a bad way to spend the day! Especially after the 100 mile drive. Too bad they didn't have sense enough to have extra registers available, on their opening day.

Yes, I've been there. Drive somewhere for something and get there to find the place understaffed like this. It is very irritating and wasteful. As someone with many years in Retail I have one thing to say: a few dollars saved here in costs usually costs many dollars lost to the competitor in the future. A bad experience will be remembered a lot longer than a good one.

Check Fleabay or GunBroker - you can likely find it for cheaper, and not have to wait on 300 sweaty 'bargain shoppers' with more money than braincells!

Honestly, these guys make me wonder...

Ya average gunowner here since our laws changed, generally isn`t short of a quid.

Frankly, some of them will spend a fortune.

Yet, there they all were, lined up like pigs at a trough.

Hah, I`m laying it on thick now..

I might, and thats MIGHT! Give them a call and see if they still have that stock ( chances are they will ) and I`ll see if they`ll ship it to me.

Or, I might just go buy something fancy and pension off that .223..

Okay I`m going window shopping
