+1 You gotta love the "Supremely Viable" 10/22.

Also attached picture of my Non-handgun, cause handguns are banned in the UK. Under UK law, this is not a handgun. (handguns have a barrel less than 12" and an overall length of less than 24"....or so the government decreed!!)
Taurus 12" barrelled, .357 mag, 7 shot, with "wrist brace". Non handgun!

Wow, that's a very cool looking device. It's funny, even growing up in England before the gun ban and being in the army cadets It never occurred to me to even think about owning a gun. now that i'm back home in the US i couldn't think of not owning one.

Great gun to have if you are attacked by squirrels but that's about it. For 2 legged predators I'll use a bigger caliber :>)

AS our guys in Afganistan are finding out 22's just don't have the kenetic power to 'drop' the bad guy

I think that a M4 style weapon with a .22lr kit as a back up would be the best shtf weapon.

I recently bought the Tapco T6 Intrafuse stock for my 10/22, very nice, looks intimidating and good for small game/ run+gun situations

Yet again I have gotten to another thread late. I actually just got through reading the first few pages of this topic and I thought I would chime in.
In my own opinion I think a .22lr is a great survival weapon, as far as lethality goes against larger animals, my father used to tell me when I was a kid that more people are killed every year with a .22 in this country than any other gun, because people underestimate it, he used to say, not sure if that is true or not but thats what I was told growing up.
Heck, I used to have an Uncle that poached deer with a .22 while he was out spotlighting back in the 70's, he swore by his little .22.
Myself on the other hand, I would definitely prefer a larger caliber weapon in a survival, SHTF, TEOTWAWKI, or whatever scenario, I like to know that if I had to draw down, my rifle is going to take care of whatever came my way, with one round. Whether it may be a crazy rabbit or something more dangerous.
But to say that the .22 isnt lethal is incorrect.
