Container Growing

We grow all of our veggies in large containers as we don't have good areas in our yard. But another advantage is if need be because of a hurricane or shtf scenario they could be moved fairly quickly. Anybody else grow this way?

Currently, this is the only way I'm growing fruits/vegetables.

I find that Peppers and Tomatoes grow especially well in very large pots. I like growing things this way because you can never really over water them (well..you can, but..) due to the great drainage, and if weather is bad, or if the sun is too much, you can easily move them.

Have you ever looked into

"square foot" gardening? Sort of in line with your thoughts.

Stole my line........

I like the idea of moving them quickly for weather; you could do a sqaure ft garden using a 1' x 4' x 5" depth for quick moving (2 people).

Excellent way to grow smaller batches of produce...

...as noted in another post, my wife and I have used this method to produce some delicious veggies.

I have to use the bucket/flowerpot method too. If I don't the dagone deer will eat the tomatos, cucumbers, peppers, and egg plant. The cucumbers are a pain because you have to put a trellis with them or they spread out and you can't bring them in.

Hello Spocahp Anar

Didn't mean to steal your line.
Would never to it on purpose.

I live in the Texas Panhandle where we can really have some
weather swings during spring and early summer so it is good
to have plants you can move every so often. Actually,
sq. ft. gardening is, in my opinion, the only way to really do
it here unless you can afford your own hothouse which
I cannot.
