What is it with you folks and snakes? Yeah, that's a big old rattlesnake. I probably would have caught it and moved it to a place where it wouldn't harm anyone. Of course I would have taken some neat pics first. I have a Japanese Koi pond and I get an unwelcome visitor from time to time. I just catch them and take them to the woods or a field. They eat mice and rats. If you want mice and rats, keep killing the snakes! King Snakes eat other snakes, including Copperheads. Good to have them around. Black Racers are neat to play with. They will chase you and raise their head like a Cobra. As soon as you turn towards them, they take off! Back and forth. LOL! |

| So...I take it you like rat and mouse infestations? I'm with Brother Bob, here. I love snakes, and I respect them. I live at the edge of Vegas and we have sidewinders out here. Beautiful animals, and not looking to hurt anybody if you're even a little careful. They'd rather not waste the venom they use to catch food on a big old human. S'what the rattles are for. When I was in High School we managed to help the principal catch a hatchling sidewinder on the asphalt basketball court. Probably looking to warm up on the blacktop 9this was about 1995, before the current trend of sheltering HS kids from the world). We got it in a container, took it way out into the undeveloped part of the desert nearby, and let it go. - Coeloptera |
