Oh, I'm sure you'll absolutely enjoy the XD line up of pistols...
...I'd have more of them if I didn't have so many other draws on our discretionary funds.

Just picked up a XDm Saturday and shot it Wenesday. Put 300 rounds thru it with no problem.
The XDm is a big handgun, 16+1 rounds of 40 S&W. Feels somewhat like a fat 1911A1.
I like Glocks and like this Springfield XDm also. The XDm is pretty much as big as I can conceal carry but love the trigger.
From what I understand it was developed as a competition base gun with grip safety and loaded round indicator.
Is is in my opinion more accurate than the Glock 23 or 27 but it has a longer match grade chamber/barrel. I really think the accuracy has as much to do with the trigger as anything.
I am running mine with the large grip insert.
Mine is the black matte model.

the sights on the new xd-m are way better funcionally and look great. springfield will install the new sights, or any decent gunsmith should be able to install them. xd's sights are install to not to move, hydro press is not a problem just time consuming I replaced my xd40 originals one with trijicom nightsights, but on the xd-m40 i use tru-glo fiber optic with tritium and they are incredible in any light condition. i installed myself and it took about an hr each. and on the test fire both where right on the dot, no need to readjust.

| Rear Sight Too Far Left
My first handgun was a Springfield Armory 1911a .45 and I just bought my first XD9 Sub-Compact for a concealed carry piece. I think this one is going to turn out to be my favorite gun...second only to my 50 cal rifle!
I did notice that it's hitting a bit high and too the left....high because I'm used to lining up the dots and putting the front dot over the target (always worked for my other handguns), but the manual says the projectile will land where I line up the top of the site....and it hits left because the rear sight is too far left...I can see the scribe mark where I think the site should be.....beat the crap out of the sight to try and move it over.... no way, Jose'! Guess I'll be taking it to the gunsmith to have it professionally done before I do something expensive to it! hehe
Doesn't look like there is any kind of elevation adjustment, so I'll just have to get used to the new way of aiming. |

Oh yeah, I love my XD 40. She is always reliable, she always listens and doesn't talk back, she always put those rounds right where I tell her too, and she loves to snuggle in her new holster. If only my wife listened as well..............
HA, HA, HA........I love my XD and really, really want an EMP in .40 to go with her. Just a little above the funds right now. But maybe soon......Patience is a virtue........RIGHT??????
I joined the XD forum a several months ago and noone posted for like a month except me, so I just quit visiting there. Then I was away for a little while and the format of the groups got changed and I have not investigated how they work yet....so.....
Good shootin' everyone....

New to the board. I just traded my 45 Gap XD for a 40 XD and all I can say what a great freaking gun. Shoot 200 rounds and the gun rocks.
Maybe somebody can stir me in the right direction I have (5) boxes of 50 rounds 45 Gap ammo that I will not be using, is there anywhere to sell these or trade for 40 caliber rounds?
Thanks

Also new to the board. Ive had my XD9 for about 6 months and put close to 1000 rounds though it. Not even the slightest hickup so far. Tried several Different rounds but for plinking around in the back yard i really seem to like the winchester wxz from bass pro real cheap and real clean. I really wanted a 40 but as often as i shoot the 9mm was much more economical. My wife got a Walther PPS 9mm at the same time because she liked the way it fit n her hand and ended up liking my Xd a lot better after firing both. Cant wait to get a little saved up for the 40 Xdm.

I will proudly join in on the XD owners group!
With some questions to boot! I have had only Ruger auto pistols until 2 weeks ago. I wanted a new auto that held more rounds and had the rail. After several weeks of shopping around I chose the .45 XD over the Taurus 24/7 and the Glock.
But can anybody tell me what the main advantages are for the XD over the Glock .45? I chose the XD because I liked the way it felt in my hand. And after getting home with it I can hit just as good with it if not better right out of the box than I can with my Ruger P90 that I have had for 5 years!

Im so happy with my 45 ACP that Im planning on getting 3 more...a Sub-Compact 40, 5 inch 9mm and 5 inch .357 Sig. Though I'll probably end up getting a 5 inch .40 and getting a 357 barrel since i cant seem to fine a 357 around my neck of the woods.

I am brand new to this site but not to the XD. Have had my .45 for about a year and can not wait for the XDm in .45. The hint I got about two weeks ago from a SA rep was to check back in a couple of months, for what ever that is worth. The new units will be hard to come by for a while but I will be patient. I am a big .45 advocate when it comes to defensive handgun ammo.
Just completed a 5 day defensive handgun course, in Feb, and the XD 45 was flawless through some ugly weather and about 850 rounds. When it was over we were able to draw from concealment and put two rounds center mass in 1.5 seconds. I never knew how much I did not know before this course. Very eye opening. Long live the XD...and XDm

| Springer trigger
Forgot to add in my last post that I had Scott Springer rework the trigger on my XD 45. Made a huge diff. He also added night sights. The guy does great work and quick turn around. I think he is at Springer Precision if anyone wants to check him out.
