500 or 590 for hunting

I presently have a Mossberg 500 with 26" Polychoke barrel and B-square sidesaddle scope mount, and a Mossberg 590 Security model with 20" cylinder bore, sidesaddle shell holder, bead sites, and is drilled and tapped for a scope.
Starting from here, which seems like a better choice for deer hunting? Basically, what difference would the longer barrel and polychoke make, good or bad, and is it worth shelling out for a scope rail (under $10). It would be used by a friend of mine who doesn't have much gun experience. The alternative to these two is my idea of temporarily adapting my SKS-D to manual cycling.

Dose the 590 have a vent rid if so you could get a set of clamp on rifle sites and use rifled slugs like I did. Or get a set of ghost ring sites and do the same thing. I got the clamp on becouse thay were only 20.00 bucks.

Nope, no vent rib. I'd plan to use a scope anyway. I just wanted to know if there was any distinct advantage or disadvantage of the polychoke of my 500.

They don't make it with the polychoke anymore.
