It's tough today. I wet an area, let it soak in, break the ground witha shovel and take a break. Luckily it's only 88 and high humidity. I'm gonna give it another couple of trys and call it a day. Breaking ground that's never in history been worked before is hard work.

Thumbs up

I think it's too cold for a winter garden here in Kansas City. Never tried it. During winter I let my garden soil "cook" with all the compost I've put there, along with two sacks of pelletized lime. Then I use my Sears 2 foot wide front tyne roto tiller mix up everything till it's almost powdered. This is usually done before the last of October or early November. All winter this mixture sets there before it's turned twice before planting again, usually in late April.

We usually don't get frost until the middle of November. I'm going to plant starting Aug 1st and the last thing I'll put in is onions, Mid-October.

I'm going for some onions, garlic, kale, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts. Will be starting some asparagus for three seasons out. Ill try some parsley also. Fixing to make some of those hanging tomatoes, they look cool.
