Unhappy New Tropical Storm in The Gulf!

Well, expect oil prices to surge, tomorrow! Just when the oil price was trending down, this storm appears in the Gulf of Mexico! We can't seem to get any breaks!

Mix that in with Iran having two weeks to accept the offer by the US and UN, I'd guess about half of that $16.00 drop coming back before Wednesday. Of course I won't really start watching this storm until it reaches about a Cat 3..

Somehow, and I know this is wrong,

but with all the bad going on in the world I feel numb about another
storm out in the ocean.

I hope it doesn't hurt anyone.

It's headed for sunny Mehico - not a problem.

Going to be interesting to see what happens over the next few days with Dolly. I don't know off hand what her path is though. Edit... here we go....

Its just a squall, the weather people get all hyped up over nothing. then when a real threat comes, no body pays attention. used to be, they only named storms when they reached hurricane force. now to make their jobs seem important they will name a fart

WATCH MEANS THAT HURRICANE CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN THE WATCH
AREA...GENERALLY WITHIN 36 HOURS.

I started putting up my hurricane panels this afternoon. I'm in Corpus Crispy/Padre Island and we are expected to get lots of rain and high winds. With the tidal surge we will probably have some flooding also. It's projected to go south of us, but you never know what those rascals might do when they hit open water.

Cat one is basically just a heavy downpour, it only affects trailers & the occasional window.

Cat Two, batten down the hatches and hope your roofer did a good job.

Cat Three, make sure every tree that might possibly fall on your house is CUT DOWN before the storm. Murphy's Law awaits those who don't. If you live on a flood plain, evacuate.

Cat Four & Five, get the fawk outta TOWN!! Doesn't even matter if you have a secure place, power/water & everything else are gonna be fawked up and there tend to be roaming scumbags...best to avoid the whole situation and stay out of town for a week.

Be sure to get your guns and go to a friends for a while. It might turn north over land and we may see some much needed rain in the hill country.

Looks like it's going to miss me. Will get lots of rain and wind. Heard on the news it's not going to do anything to oil prices either. Not many oil rigs in the area it is tracking.

Pred, please tell me you're kidding! No one wants a hurricane. No one! People die, homes are destroyed, and businesses are ruined. I've worked tornado and hurricane damage. The human suffering is horrible and I shed many a tear while doing all I could to help my fellow man. Until you've been there or experienced a tragedy of this magnitude, you can't get a real grasp of how truly bad it is.

Mine too, Windwalker. CGO and I have been through four of the worst storms in recent Ok. history, just since we moved here. It can be devastating to a family, or business. My heart goes out to those who suffer from these events.

Grow up, Pred, and stop wishing for disaster to strike innocent people.
