I was out a few weeks ago in the Gulf Stream Off of North Florida. We caught several big Dolphin in the 30lb range. I have a small child and so this year, I haven't been out very much. Tomorrow is the opening of Lobster mini-season, and this will be one of the first years I have missed in a long time! The price of fuel is making offshore fun almost unaffordable!

Hi kurtiss, welcome to G&G !! Gas prices are killing me as well. But food prices are sort of balancing out justifying a fishing trip LOL !!

I'm thinking of taking a charter boat 80 bucks a person, they provide everything all day trip. Just have to bring a cooler with food and drinks.

Chris, are they after a single type, like Snapper, or just generally fishing?

Chris I would make sure and take a soft cooler and not a hard one. We got lucky and happened to have one, but they werent letting people get on board with hard coolers. You may check the price they charge for drinks and food too, because after going on the trip I went on their price were more than fair and I wouldnt bother bringing anything except my own tackle next time. Hamburger and chips were $3 even though I could make a sandwich for less than that it just wasnt worth hauling the cooler on board and keeping up with it with all the people on there. Of course it may be crazy different out there but JMO.
