just got mine yesterday... and someone else's too!
It took about a month... and it arrived yesterday!
It came in the blue BATFE envelope, and someone esle's was in there too...
I'm sure it was a simple administrative mistake. I called BATFE and left a message... gonna send it directly to the proper recipient, but I want the blessing of the feds first- just to cover myself.
I hope you started up a slush fund while you were waiting! Don't forget to send copies to Midway, Brownells, Graf and Sons to get their dealer discounts, too.
So did they say anything about the mistake? Did they even thank you for being honest? Sure, it might have been a simple administrative mistake, but if you or any other FFL or C&R holder makes a small error, they'll take your FFL or C&R away and throw you in jail if at all possible. I just think they SHOULD BE HELD TO THE SAME STANDARDS THAT THEY HOLD FFL or C&R HOLDERS TO!
Anyhow, congrats on getting your C&R...

Thanks! I'm excited I got it.
The lady from BATF was pretty nice about it... at first she was confused, but once I explained it to her and offered to send it to the other guy she thanked me. I'm just glad his FFL didn't get lost... that would suck if I was in his shoes and my FFL got lost somewhere...now he will have his before the end of the week.
Now somebody else at the ATF is going to get another confusing call when this guy gets his license and calls asking why their return address isn't on the envelope. LOL
It's a shame though, that one of us, committing the same kind of innocent, "brain fart" error would probably be at least indicted for some kind of felony.
