do you meen the .17Hm2? if so i would recomend the .17hmr, the .17hm2 is a .22lr necked down to the .17 bullet as the .17hmr is a .22mag necked down. the .17hmr is bigger, faster, and more powerful than the hm2. i bought my savage .17hmr for $240, it came with a heavy barrel and a 3/9x40 simmons scope. you can find one at a local gun store, and sometimes walmart. check dunhams or dicks sporting goods. if you still want the hm2 you can find it at the same place but im not sure of the cost.

the cost should be less than a 17hmr want to say under 200 but it has been a couple of years since I bought mine. it is a 917m2 a marlin bolt with a heavy barrel. the ammo is a little cheaper than the 17hmr but the range is shorter also. The plus side is that they are quite I can hardly hear mine over the lawnmower.
If you havnt already done it I would suggest the HMR over the M2. Personally I see no real gain over the 22 with the m2, at least not one big enough for me to buy a gun for it. The 17 HMR is a hot fun little round to play with. It blows the crap outa chucks and birds to about 150. People say its spendy but honestly 10 bucks for 50 shells isnt hardly anything, at least to me.
