Why dont all 4 Weaver TO-9 scope base screw holes line up on the 10/22?

Why dont all 4 Weaver TO-9 scope base screw holes line up on the 10/22?

If I get all 4 to line up the plate extends way over the front.
If I turn it around and get 3 out of 4 holes to line up it sits just right?

WTF? over

Should I just put one plug in one hole and only use 3 of the mounting screws provided?

If so that seems kinda lame?

Anyone use this to mount a tip off scope, TO rail doesnt seem as defined as the original ruger one.

But I dont have screws for original one so I bout the Weaver that supposed to fit and take either TO or weaver?

I have never mounted a tip off scope so I can't help. I think I would go with the three screw mount, use some loc-tite or fingernail polish on the screws. Scope mounts are usually made for a specific gun, is your mount for the 10/22?

I would say that if it doesn't line up, I'd find one that does.

Thanks a bunch.
I sent the question to Weaver. Should get a reply within 3 days?
Its listed on thier site as the scope base for the ruger 10/22.
I'll likely use this base with 3 srews for now. Maybe order the 4 screws from ruger to use the OEM base later, need some other parts anyway.

I picked up my Bushnell 22 rimfire 3x-9x 32mm scope just now at lunch $49.99 at Big 5 sporting goods.
yeh! cant wait to mount it and go shoot it.
OK its not as nice as my leoupold but should be perfect for this little 22.
Better than the daisy scope I got for my nephews pellet gun. lol
Most important thing is it looks wicked cool...uh ...um I mean the sight picture is optimal and parallax adjusted error free at the anticipated 50 yard range at the appropriate setting of 4x under expected light transmission levels and good field of view of 40 feet at 100 yards for quality range and field use. LOL
