10/22 hands down. Can be customized as much as you like to do anything a 22 should do. I've had mine for five years and only had it jam on my once when I negleced to oil the magazine after the first 500 rounds.

For me personally, I would say Model 60, because the 10/22 doesnt have the out of the box accuracy without modding.

Personally I own 4 10/22's, everybody should buy one, then move on.
IMHO, I would say, 'save your money and find a decent Remington model 24 or a Winchester model 74'. Most can be scoped, or have receiver sights installed. You just can't get the feel that the old 22's had in a new rifle anymore, and you have to work too hard to get the same accuracy from the new factory rifles that the old ones came with.
I don't own any Marlin's, so I can't speak to their accuracy or reliability. They are the 'most' purchased 'new' 22 repeater, even more than the 10/22.
Wouldn't own a 'new' Remington (after 1970) if it was gifted to me....
And I've never heard of the Savage you listed.

We got a Brazilian-made Magtech Model 7022 a few years ago at Walmart for some incredibly low, low, price. I want to say it was $89. At any rate, it's been a great little semi-auto. It's short--practically a carbine--and has a nice hardwood stock. It might be a good choice if you want to enter the hobby cheap. Otherwise, I'd suggest a Marlin.

My 10/22 has a 16" ultra-lite barrel, wood underfolder stock, and with steel lip mags is wonderful.Might be one of a kind?

Marlin if you want out-of-the-box accuracy...
10/22 if you want to go absolutely NUTS playing around with mods & whackey stuff. There are all kinds of mods, including taking two of them and attaching them onto a frame that turns them into a Gatling Gun when you get bored with regular shooting...
RUGER 10/22 GATLING GUN CNC MACHINED ALUMINUM SET [rggat22] $399.99 Click to enlarge Every gun enthusiast that's seen a gatling gun in a western movie has wanted to get behind the gun, crank it hard and watch it spit lead! Our Gatling Gun Kit, that uses 2 Ruger 10/22 rifles (not included) will give you a good feel for what a real gatling gun would feel like at a price that you'll like.
The kit is precison CNC machined from billet aluminum, including the frame and the receiver covers - No Cheap Plastic parts here! The tripod is also precison CNC machined from aluminim for a solid shooting platform. Rate of fire is four rounds per crank revolution and is only limited by your ability to turn the crank. The Gatling Gun Kit requires NO special permits or licenses since you supply the two required Ruger 10/22 rifles (which are the registered firearms). The only limitation is that BATF prohits you from putting any kind of an electic motor, drill etc on in place of the hand crank, SO DON'T DO IT - it's already too much fun with just the hand crank!
The GATLING GUN KIT comes complete with all the parts required to assemble using your two Ruger 10/22 rifles (required, not included), the tripod and anti-aircraft sights. Magazines are NOT included. Any Ruger 10/22 magaines will fit. For ultimate reliability and appearance, we recommend our TI25 MACHINED ALUMINIM MAGAZINES - no other magazine comes close!
The GATLING GUN KIT assembles in minutes with only standard household hand tools. If you're ready for a lot of fun without spending a lot of money, this is an accessory that's sure to please! http://www.tacticalinc.com/ruger-1022-gatling-machined-aluminum-p-571.html

Tapco Fusion stock 10/22 carbine.... | not only this mod, but like some one said earlier you can get the "Krinker Plinker" mod or even the MG42 mod for you 10/22. And if you ever happen to get 2 10/22's there is a mod where you drop the actions in and it looks like either dual MG34's or MG42's on a tripod with the anti-aircraft sights |

I found what I was looking for. Either a Savage Model 62F or Mark II.

I think the Marlin Model 60 is one of the best value rifles out there. One of the cheaper ones, and still one of the more accurate ones out of the box. From what I read 2" groups at 100 yards are almost normal with the marlins.
