Mossberg 500... "DEER SMOOTH?"

At my local gun store it says online they have a bunch of Mossberg 500. The ones under $200 say Deer Smooth on the description. Any insight to this?

No

This gives some sort advertising spin on words not defined that give an illusion of success at deer hunting.

Be practical - examine the gun, work the action, check the trigger pull, put it to your shoulder to "feel the fit", do a little bit of reading about the model, and then decide if you want it on the merits of the gun and not the advertising "come on".

It probably means it has "deer" sights, i.e. rifle type sights. The smooth probably means it's just a smooth bore barrel and not rifled.
