hey gun buffs out there - I have an easy one for you,
anybody know of a handgun that meets the following criteria:
1. supports interchangeable .22 LR and .22 Mag cylinders
2. is double action
3. is still in production for normal retail purchase
I found there are few guns that meet criteria 1 & 3, but I don't know of one that lets you pop the cylinders out and is also double action.
I believe the Only Double action convertible available would be a Colt Trooper MK III in .22LR/.22mag. No longer in Production, run about 1250.00 if you find one on the market. The rest are all single action revolvers...

I just inherited a Ruger, Single Six. I've burned about 50 LR rounds through it so far. I'm happy with the single action. As I have always owned auto's, I'm happy with the model.
My father still has his old High Standard Doublenine he bought the year I was born - 1957!
It's an okay shooter, but on a par with my Tanfoglio TA76and the Heritage Arms Roughrider - it is NOT as good as the Ruger Singlesix. His also is not the Convertible model.
I've been shooting my Six every night since Sunday. I tried the .22 Mag. cylinder last night. I liked the feel of it. As it was pretty late, I didn't shoot but six rounds, off-hand.
I plan on transferring the Registration into my name tomorrow. Then I will be able to shoot at a range on Saturday. As always, CAN'T WAIT!!!!
H I Standard Double-nine convertable from 1972-1984 Gun Values list them
from 150.00 to 200.00
Had one, good little gun,put a jillion rounds through it,the only malfunction was the front sight fell off during a long session, maybe the barrel got too hot?,but no problem, made another one, press fit, worked fine until my house was burglerized and it was stolen, grrrrr!
