If you decide to buy, and scope, the 91/30 I would recommend using the dovetail hidden under the rear sight mount and then mount an 2-7 x 30 NC Star LER scout scope. That way you don't have to change the bolt, and can still load using the 5 round stripper clips.

There are a few of us here who have mounted scopes to both MN carbines and long rifles, so just ask. OR cruise the threads here for info.

I just got a Finnish M1891 1940 VKT with a D on the barrel for $165. The barrel or bore is in mint condition it is shiny and you can see the barreling and no extra landmarks.

Ah... a new MN groupie? Welcome, and good purchase. But it doesn't exist without "pitchers" as in pho-toe-grafs.

And then you need to add it to the Mosin Nagant roll call thread. I think we are approaching battalion strength.

You might be aware that Gander Mt. has been listing their 44s at $150, but in Evansville they might still come down to $130 by chatting with the manager. Don't know if these stores are in KY.

Found a really good 44 at a small store in Clarkesville on the return trip.

I hate you.

Finns in Good to Very Good condition around here are going for $275. You got a really good deal on that rifle.
