might sound like a newbie question from a senior member, but arent Finnish M1891 1940 VKT's like 300 dollar guns?

Yep, if bought from a distributor. I bought one a couple months back for 90. It has a lot of cleaning needed. Bore had been shot and not cleaned. But it cleaned up real nice and was not bubba'ed. Love the rifle. I gotta post some pics. Camera comes tomorrow!!!

There are only three stooges.

Correction: four if you count Shemp. So who?

After Curly died the three stooges were never the same. Shemp was great but did not have the slapstick as well as Curly. May he rest in peace.

5 if you count Joe Besser! Curly actually replaced Shemp first then Shemp came back after Curly suffered a stroke. Nyuk, Nyuk, Nyuk.

Well, if you really count them all up, there were 6 stooges. There was a Curly Joe Derita for a couple. He got fired because he refused to take a pie in the face.

Wow, this gets funnier and funnier everytime I look at it. Does anyone know how accurate the Finnish M1891 is? I am wondering because I still have not been able to shoot it yet.

The Russian 91/30 had to shoot a 3" group at 100 yds to make the accuracy standard. The Finnish guns should be able to do about half of that.

I hate being late to the party! So much has happened and I have to catch up. 1st, Good deal on the 91/30. Can't say about the price. 2nd, Tell your dad thanks for his service and I hope you fullfill your wish to join. Leave all options open, Do what you want, but research all the options. Lots of Vets joke about the USAF, NAVY, ARMY, MARINES... but each has a "Grudging" respect for the other. We are all members of an elite unit! (I'm a retired USAF SP, I learned how to shoot pistols to mortars). If you want to shoot distance you need a scope. As for military shooting training I think the USMC has it all. Army snipers learn what Marines learn in boot camp! (ALMOST)! Anyway welcome to the board, and keep us posted with your acomplishments. God bless!
