What's the difference between ...

a P345 and a P or K 97DC? I'm looking for a .45 and most 1911s are too expensive and I wouldn't know which one to get anyway. I do have a P95DC in 9mm and like it a lot so I thought I'd get Ruger a chance in .45 as well. Which would you buy? Thanks for the input.

I have a P345. It's a good pistol but Holsters and such aren't as common as they are for the 97 series pistols. I know it's not much but that's about all I can offer. Hopefully it helps some.

dgray, the P-345 is a polymer-framed gun and is a complete departure from the other Ruger pistols in design. The 97's are steel-framed with a decock feature and are similar to the rest of the P-series line-up.

What do you want to pay? I saw a Springfield 1911 on gunbroker for under $600 I think it was.

This one here as a matter of fact.

They are out there, you just have to look/search. But, that's a damn fine gun/1911 for the money. MHO anyways. Here's more, some under $600. What would that P345 be running you?

Toolman, I think you're thinking of the P90.
The P97 is also a polymer frame, much like the P95.

If you like your P95, you'll like the P97.

All are good, but the P345 is a nice size and feeling 45.
