mossberg 535 ats

ok i am wondering if this would be good for my first gun. It would be mainly used for deer, partridge, geese, duck and turkey. Also is this gun better than the 870?

I have not used one myself, the combo package price is attractive, maybe someone with some personal experience can reply....

The Mossberg model 535 ATS will work just fine for what you've asked. In fact, that's what they, Mossberg, advertise it for. >>>

I celebrate all the major holidays.
Opening day duck. Opening day turkey.
Opening day deer.

The rest can be seen and read here>>> But I'm sure you've already seen, read and know all this and are merely looking for confirmation. I sat go for it. Mossberg makes quality stuff. Not saying Remington doesn't though.

I have the 535 field and the thumbhole turkey model as well. Love them both.
I was going to get a 500, but they were all out of the 500's at wally world, so I got the 535 field 12 gauge instead. Definitely a good starter gun, though I doubt Ill move on since these will even shoot the 3 1/2" shells if I ever need them.
Ive mainly been using them for squirrel so far.

get the 535 turkey tactical. it's the one with car-15 style collapsible stock. totally awesome gun and much more versatile than the 835 but with the 31/2" chamber. My wife bought me one last christmas (gotta love her, she got me a Mosin Nagant for our anniversery this year!).
