I went googling straight razors the other night, and found a model made in France with blades of damascus steel and water buffalo-horn handles. The price has been knocked down to a measly $750.00.

You know what's even sillier than that? If I were budgeting strictly for myself without a wife and kids, I'd probably get one and eat beans for a while. They're very nice razors.

They have some hand-ground from old Sheffield steel blanks for about sixty or seventy bucks, and I may break down and get one of those someday.

I use a Gillette Sensor, although I may pick up the Sensor 3 blades next time. I've tried elecrtric razors but my hair is so coarse they pull the hair out as opposed to cutting it.

As far as haircuts, I haven't paid for a haircut for years. My wife either breaks out the electric shears and buzz cuts me or sometimes I shave it completely bald.

Before I got married I had my Mom buzz cut it. My hair looks like crap when it gets long so I keep it real short. I'm one of those few people who is actually a bit glad I'm going bald.
