| Anyone here know anything helpful about wireless home routers?
I have a dLink DI-624 (ver. C) wireless router (Super G). I have my Vista computer hooked up as wired for the control center. I have my laptop and another Dell XP desktop hooked up wireless. I have a high gain antenna. The kids use the other Dell XP for gaming but it's in the basement (gameroom). I have my MAC addresses solidly attached to certain internal IP addresses. I'm using IP filters to control internet connections. But I can't get my "time" stable. I'm try to establish a Network Time Protocol but am having problems with it. Tomorrow I'm upgrading my internet connection with VoIP for my phone (Vonage sucks) and back to cable TV as opposed to DirectTV. (Comcast Triple Play) I'm hoping for a better setup but I think I need to take my "G" connection up to the new "N" connection. I didn't like LinkSys and I'm not so sure I like my previous two dLinks either but I'm able to control my firewall fairly well. Although my weak link is my Toshiba laptop that can't do better than a 64 bit WEP encryption. I'd like to be able to use WPA for better security. Maybe this isn't the board to ask these questions but it's worth a shot... Anyone?
