Does anyone have a pic of a Super Blackhawk with Pachmayer grips on it? I might look at getting Pachmayr grips for my Super Blackhawk 44mag 7-1/2" barrel. What are your thoughts on them on a Super Blackhawk?
fifteen or so +1's for the Pachmayr grips and you might want to cruise the internet for other grips of similar properties. I feel these aftermarket grips are vastly superior to the factory grips.
Also, you didn't ask but I found my "sweet spot" with the gun by loading down in power from the .44 mag. If I still had the gun and my notes I would post it for you. But I do advise experimenting in the power range between the .44 special and the regular .44 mag.
Kirk...the only way to know for sure is to visit a gun shop and hold a gun with these grips installed. To me, it makes a big difference in the feel of the gun and the confidence it gives me holding the revolver.
Im just not sure how much it will help with the feel and comfort of the gun.
The Pachmayr are a big change from the oem plow handle grips. The Pachmayr won't roll in your palm like the plow handles well. I have a set of old Herrett's on my sbh, very similar to the Pachmayr but are wood.
You can find Pachmayr grips on e-bay dirt cheap.

Packmayr Grips feel the best on the Super blackhawk. They dont look bad but I leave the wooden ones or my stag pair on the gun. If I want to do a lot of shooting I switch the the Pacs . I bought mine at Brownells ( a great family owned company) good Shooting!!!!
I would strongly agree with madcratebuilder. When I bought my Super Blackhawk I added a box of Winchester Silver Tips and took them to the range. It wasn't comfortable to shoot at all. As has been stated strong loads cause the gun to roll upwards.
I went back to the gun shop and bought the Pachmayr grips and it was like night and day. Even with strong hunting loads it was like shooting a .357 instead of a .44mag.
20+ years ago I bought a 7 1/2" blackhawk, and after shooting it, I knew I had to change grips. I went through 3 pair before I settled on the Pachmyr's. 3 days ago, I picked one up in a 5 1/2', and I am like a little kid with it. Payday will see me ordering a pair from Brownell's for sure.
