Kid drops out of school to play guitar hero

A 16 year old kid has dropped out of highschool to play Guitar hero "full-time".

The link:

16-year-old drops out of school to play Guitar Hero : Christopher Null : Yahoo! Tech

Two questions:

What kind of idiot parents would allow their kid to do this?

Why would someone devote so much time to playing Guitar Hero and not towards actually playing the guitar?

the type of idiots who are too wrapped up in themselves to care about their kids to even ask how there day was.

I don't know why someone would even devote that much time, i've played the game and it gets old after while......and it doesn't even teach you to play guitar in my opinion.

1. Liberals, allowing their child to be a free thinker and a free spirit.

2. Same reason people play bowling on Wii.

If it was my kid, I'd say sure! Drop out! But you have to leave my house within 48 hours of doing so.

Many people become biological parents because

of pressures from their parents wanting to be grandparents. thinking it is the right thing to do, running out of time on the bio-clock, "a kid will save our relationship" mis-thinking, trying to force someone into marriage, and so on and on and on.

Too few people become real parents because they have thought it out and planned it out and really want the child.

Sadly, I have seen so many unwanted children in my lifetime this type story just does not surprise me.

The kind that just might be running this country in not many years down the road. Scary though isn't it. lmfao What a goober this kid is. And somebody oughta take a willow tree branch to his parents also. What morons they must be. I guess the nut really doesn't fall far from the tree does it? lmao

Shame on the parents, the sad part is, 10 years from now, they'll be wondering what went wrong.

there is no shortage of subnormals.
my question is.
how do they make enough money to not have to do ANYTHING worthwhile?
what do the parents DO?
did they inherit a pile from some ancestor that actually WORKED?

i mean even drug dealers go outside once in a while.

A forgone conclusion that his parents will probably be supporting him the rest of their lives. They get what they deserve.

Somehow, I never considered lack of parenting skills to be a 'liberal' trait...why try to pin that one label on everything stupid in the world?.

Too many kids live too much of their lives in video games. We have flat out put the kids computer off limits during the school week. (Unless they absolutely need it for school and that get scrutinized very closely.) And if their grades aren't up to par, no computer on the weekends either. I have them convinced that I watch their activity on the computer through "Remote Desktop" from my computer.

This kid doesnt even have an education, like he is going to run the country. He will grow up voting for the guy who promises to give him all his food, shelter and whatever else he wants so he can go back to playing his guitar. An uneducated, mooching dumbass.
Wait till the kid busts his finger permanently, than he's really f*ck**

The parents arent liberals, they are probably just like the kid, no education and little aspiration for the future, specially for him. Hey, lets come back in 20 years and ask him how his job as a fry cook at mcdonalds is going?

Do realize, there are a small, but growing number of "Pro Gamers" out there. It's somewhat like pro athletes...just wimpier. They can get sponsors, more events are being broadcast, there are TV shows, competitions, all that kind of stuff.

But the field is so small this kid better be one of the best of the best in the world to have a shot at making a career of it.

At least he's getting tutoured so if (most likely when) this doesn't pan out, he will still have a basic education to fall back on and maybe a better idea of what he really should be doing.

Oh, and regarding those games? Amusingly, I've found, the better you really are, the harder the games can be. My friends and I play Rock band every so and most of us are actual musicians, some of us with classical training. My friend who plays bass guitar for real says it's actually a little rougher to play the game. One friend who plays drums has an easier time of it...I usually sing (because I can sing non-stop for 3 hours and have a nearly complete 4 octave range because of my vocal training, so I can do male or female lead vocalist songs) and it's funny when I get a 97% because I sometimes have to follow along with bands with singers that aren't actually very good (like Coheed and Cambria).

I don't see what is so wrong with it. it is just another person to serve me my burgers and fries at lunch time. I will be making money in the global market with the Indians and the Chinese and this kid will be serving us food. It is the parents and these loser kids who are slowly drowning this country out of the top. The best thing I can say is to start looking at how the globe works and where the best secure jobs are. after these kids and the unions destroy this country, they can be employed as almost slave labor. so go ahead and keep playing that guitar hero.

This is meant to be a joke if you couldn't tell.

i think video games are the problem and they have these laws that you cant spank your kid well i "time out" in there room full of video games doesnt do much punishment so if our granparents could spank our parents why cant they do the same when there child acts up time out is not good punishment

I don't want that kid serving me food. Those kind of kids that don't take life serious are not someone that I want handling my food at any level.

Remember "Super Troopers"...

Farva: Give me a double bacon cheeseburger.
Dimpus Burger Guy: [into mic] Double baco cheeseburger. It's for a cop.
Farva: What the hell's that all about? You gonna spit in it now?
Dimpus Burger Guy: No, I just told him that so he makes it good.
[into mic]
Dimpus Burger Guy: Don't spit in that cop's burger.
Farva: Yeah, thanks.
Second Dimpus Guy: Roger, holding the spit.
Farva: Gimme a pie... apple.
Dimpus Burger Guy: Want me to hold the spit? Hah, just kidding officer Farva.
