Has anyone tried the comp stock?

You know the one with the spring thingy in the stock
do they really work?
They are supposed to reduce recoil by 50%
Anybody?

I have not rtried Comp-Stock. But anything with the spring in the stock should reduce recoil. It's the old AR15 theory. At least that's the way I see it...

Put a Hogue OM Comp stock on my wingmaster 870-.12. Yes, it does reduce felt recoil...to what percent I can't say. I've had it out trap shooting twice now with friends and the main thing I notice is that the old shoulder felt pretty normal that night.

Well I went and got one and put it on my 870
WoW what a difference just be careful you dont have your noze to close to the stock. it moves and you can smack your self.
Shot two hundred rounds with no problems. I would not have been able to do that with out this new stock.
I replaced the original Hougue recoil unit with the Knoxx industries unit(the original design)
Every once in a while some new gimmick comes along that really works

I have used both and I really like the upgrade
It takes less recoil to activate the unit and get it moveing
The recoil unit "ramps up" to the impact of heavy magnum loads
I recomend the up grade
Hougue changed the design to simplify and cheapen the manufacturing process.
The accordion boot never held up at all from the get go.
The overmolded recoil covering piece works better.
They where attentive and shipped my part immediatly upon recieving my order.
It was refreshing that they did everything like they where supposed to.
I am waiting on the sidewinder kit and once they get them made,
They will ship that as well.
