A Plastic Bag

I always have a small, waste can sized, plastic bag with me. I also always have one in my truck. Over the years I've found all kinds of stuff that I wanted and needed a tote bag for.
At a bus stop I found 24 cans of mackerel. I've found brand new trowels, with the label on'm. I once found about $100 worth of reloading tools, brass and cleaning supplies dumped by the side of the road.
When I worked patrol, in the Fall I'd take one of my coffee breaks in the National Park along the river and pickup pecans. One year I picked up close to 25 lbs of free pecans.
And yep, I've salvaged meat off of gut shot game and road kill. A Lady driving on a road clipped the head of a doe and I got the backstrap.
I've also used a bag to preserve evidence when it started raining at a crime scene. I've split a bag and used it as a poncho until I could get back to my vehicle for a real raincoat.
You never know when you’ll find something or someone might offer you something for free and you need a bag.

I try to remember small plastic grocery bags for trash while on the road but end up using them for something else. I often forget a stringer when i go fishing and just throw trout in the bag. I've used them recently when dove hunting. This summer i gathered a bunch of Blackberries, and yes i've pulled the old make shift rain coat also.
