I can shoot a 1/2 inch group at 2,000 yds with a .50 cal, open sights, and blindfolded.

just give me one bullet tho....

That shooting method was taken off an old western and those shows are not known for the truth. ( the finger point method)

The only firearm I've ever seen shot with middlefinger on trigger, was a SMLE rifle, by an old British friend of mine very very fast.

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but it sounds like the OP simply dislikes the 1911 design to begin with, and has to come up with some ridiculous "flaw" to rationalize his hatred.

I think they should just change the name of the 9mm to .380 magnum.
