Insane Puma!

Was at the gun shop last night as the dealer just un-boxed a new 92Puma stainless steel & walnut and what a evil looking weapon it was "454Casull"
in carbine length with high vis sights, if I had the $$ I'd a spent the $698 + 6% tax on the spot!
Anyboda have one these little devils? how bad is the muzzle blast?

If you dont hit it! Singe off the fur!

My brother-in-law just paid me a visit last weekend and had his .357 carbine with him. Looks like a nice piece of hardware. I imagine the .454 is just as good.

The 454 in a model 92 they deleted the cartridge loading gate and went with a tube arrangement like a rimfire is loaded, that explains the tube mag is fatter than the barrel and a big Knurled cap on the end.my guess they wanted as much beef in the action as possible, It came with a fat rubber butt pad like a shotguns.
if I recall there was somthing with loading gates on some models wanting to top off the mag after shooting but the cartridges would be behind the loading gate and you couldent till you had to shot all in the mag.

I have a Puma .45 LC . Fun little gun .

I do not know if they have been resolved , presently ? But I have read of .454 Pumas having problems due to extreme recoil . Split wood and sheered parts holding the mag tube .

I would not mind having one ( looked at one at the last gun show , I went to . But would probably limit myself to hotter .45 LC loads .

God bless

Ya know, I'm going to sound silly saying this but the 357 does not have ENOUGH recoil. A 45 may be in the cards someday.

Billy, that is one pretty rifle. Let us know when you find the magic load. Post targets.

I agree, Billy, that's one perty rifle. I've always loved the brass look when it comes to the receiver. That's a Henry isn't it?

yes
thats the HENRY BIG BOY
it's a heavy gun and i am glad it is because i have run a few screamer loads through it and the recoil was a bit harsh.

i have a puma in 45 colt and have been debating keeping it and using +p 45 colt loads (Doubletap ammo, or buffalo bore) or trading it in on a 454. if i had the money id have both but dont want to spend it right now.

I've read some articles in Boar Hunter Magazine and the authors
really liked them on hogs.

I,ve have one,it,s a great looking cowboy gun,but I have accuracy issue with mine.It won,t even come close to holding a pattern at 66yds.I even had others shoot it, just to make sure it wasn,t me.
