Well .223 can be hard to find sometimes as it is. One guy I know who got a look inside a National Guard armory warehouse in Georgia, was there to take a look at some rifles they needed fixed/parts for, and he told me they had ammunition in crates, stacked wall to wall the length and width of the building he walked through and it was stacked ceiling high, of just .223.
Even EoTech product can be hard to get. All military orders get priority. Then factor in some of the problems with quality I heard they've (EoTech) has also been having, the wait can be quite extensive.
Just think, if this is a trend, when a storm comes through, there's 3 more potential hurricanes coming this way...
