American Rifleman T.V. top ten infantry rifles

Part 1, 9-3-08, rifles 10-6. Let's get some posts and feedback going; not only about their list, but with and about any information anyone may have about the rifles listed. Don't argue as to their reasons listed, I simply put it in because it was/ is their reason/s...With some, there was/may have been more reason/s, but I simply just put what was said first and sometimes what was said 2nd or 3rd even, depending on what was said. Take any discretion's up with American Rifleman T.V., not with me. Please, don't shoot the messenger. lol

#10). The Henry Rifle. Their reason, it was the first of it's kind.

# 9). The Dreyse Needle Gun/Rifle. Their reason, marked first issuance of a bolt action rifle to troops of a major power. Also marked a new era of infantry rifle.

# 8). The FN-FAL. Their reason, was the mainstay rifle of the free world during the cold war, with the exception of the U.S..

# 7). The STG 44. Their reason, most influential gun of WWII. It set the standard of what the infantry rifle would be like for the next 50yrs..One man could carry it and could also carry a lot of ammunition for it.

# 6). The Lee Enfield, in service from 1888 all the way through the Falklands war. Probably the fastest firing bolt action rifle ever adopted by any army. With it's 10rd. magazine, it really gave the British soldiers the advantage. Could be reloaded very rapidly. After WWI, the British renamed the SMLE the Number 1 rifle. They began development of an improved Lee Enfield rifle with a receiver mounted aperture rear sight. This new gun did away with the SMLE's complicated nose cap and was easier to manufacture. It was adopted in 1939 as the Number 4 rifle.

I'll gladly continue with the top 5 if you all would like, next week, providing my DVR records it or for some reason lose my satellite signal. Others might want to record it just in case and if I didn't get it recorded, someone else may take charge...

P.S. Sorry and I apologize if I put this in the wrong forum. To me, it's firearm related news of sorts. And after looking over the other forums, I thought this one would be best. But if someone feels it should be moved, then please, feel free to do so...

I know the one based on the Military channels was as well as the Field and Stream's top 50. But I looked, took a quick look and search anyhow, for one from or about the American Rifleman T.V. show on the outdoor channel and saw nothing. If I'm wrong, it won't/isn't the first time something was double posted. I know and make/made sure I checked first. Maybe if more used tags, this could be avoided if it is indeed the case???
