The `Community Organizer`s` New Clothes

The community Barack Obama has organized is, in Plouffe`s own telling, the community of those who admire Barack Obama. He is mayor of Obamaville and aspires to be president of Barackistan. At the center of it all is a man who, like Hans Christian Andersen`s naked emperor, may or may not believe that his veneer of accomplishment is real.

For a man who has lived 72 years and 67 days (McCain's age on Election Day this year), there is between a 14.2 and 15.1 percent chance of dying before Inauguration Day 2013, according to the Social Security Administration's 2004 actuarial tables and the authoritative 2001 mortality statistics assembled by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
Going by the Social Security Administration's tables, that's nearly ten times the likelihood that a man aged 47 years and 92 days (Barack Obama's age on Election Day this year) will die before Jan. 20, 2013.
Let's take the average of the two figures and say that McCain has a 14.65% likelihood of dying before Inauguration Day 2013, while Obama's likelihood is 1.465%.

For the sake of argument, assume further that Joe Biden and John McCain are equally qualified to be president, and Sarah Palin is as unqualified as Barack Obama.

That means that if McCain is elected, there is better than an 85% chance that America will have a qualified president at the end of the term. If Obama is elected, the likelihood of having an unqualified president at term's end is higher than 98.5%.

I love the Wall Street Journal. They have such a nice way with figures.

The liberal pack is a strange pack wherein

one moves up by being more liberal than than the others. Nothing counts much more than having the new idea first. Strangely, it does not matter if the idea is based on fact so long as it dovetails into what the pack wants to hear. It is really about control of the masses as the idea never comes from the masses yet the idea is to be imposed on the masses for their own good. Interestingly, if the idea is something that might be a bit disagreeable to the liberal elite they write in either grandfather or escape clauses for themselves and their fellow travellers.

Actually, like the emporer and his non-clothes, it does not matter if the idea has no substance as it can be replaced by the next idea whether or not the next idea has any substance.

So, for now Obama is the top idea and he truly has his own little world
and his own little press corps and his own little group of camp followers just as Hillary did a few months ago. If Obama loses the general election in a few weeks he will no longer be the top idea but he can join Kerry and Hillary as Democratic Party elder statesmen where they can evaluate the next great idea.

They won't have to travel far for the next top idea as it can only come from the little circle of the liberal elite. So, next February will be about time for the announcement of the next top idea.

Like Andy Rooney, I have now had a moment to present my view and you have been able to read it in less than 60 Minutes.

One interesting trait of the UberLiberal Elite, once the Golden Boy (or Girl) loses the brass ring, they are DONE. They get ONE chance - we will not see Gore, Kerry or Ms. Klinton run again. They failed their handlers, and are now last week's fish.
If Obama loses, he joins this stinky club. Uncle Teddy was the smart one - he didn't run for Pres or Veep - so he has been an irritating thorn in our sides for decades.

The GOP is a bit different - they have been willing to let a promising loser run again. Nixon lost his first try, as did Uncle Ronnie, if memory serves. Later, they won their brass ring. The Repubs also tend to do the lecture circuit a bit more.

This often applies to those who land in jail too. Most of Nixon's 'Plumbers' did great after Watergate - heck, it MADE some of their later careers.
Liberal jailbait seems to just fade away.......

Basically, if you are going to be a political failure, it definitely pays to be a Republican!

I say let's send him back to Barackistan ! Anywhere but here.

It seems to me he and his wife don't like America anyhow--too many of us honest hard working people here clinging to our guns and religion. We won't bow down at his feet; maybe this ain't the place for him.

I wouldn't necessarily be bragging about Nixon being the one who got a second chance. And jail bait is jail bait, in my opinion. The fact that Republican jail bait doesn't fade and go away isn't necessarily something to brag about, either...

I believe Nixon and Dewey are the only Republicans who were actually nominated more than once, and Nixon is the only one who won. Reagan, like Biden and Edwards, ran twice for the nomination. He was successful the second time.

On the other side there was Adlai Stevenson, who was nominated twice to run against Eisenhower, and lost both times.
