XDm Range Report

Awesome! The grip feels great. I have a small hand and put the smallest "mainspring housing" insert on. I like the grip angle and the grip safety - it makes me feel like I'm shooting 1911 with a polymer frame.

Overall the accuracy seems solid - I was pretty consistent. I didn't measure any groups as I am not a good shot with a pistol yet. The XDm is way better than I am. The sights did not seem to need any adjustment out of the box.

The factory trigger is the best non-custom out-of-box trigger that I have felt. THe reset was pretty short for double taps as well.

I shot 200 rounds without any malfunctions.

The .40S&W had more "punch" than I was expecting. I am accustomed to .45acp's and I thought the .40 was a significant drop in power, but it still feels like you're shooting something that would hurt!

I changed my backstrap on the XDm and had to tap a pin out with a hammer and nail (formal name is a punch?). Anyway, just careful tapping and then reinsert the pin with the new backstrap in the same fashion. Very careful tapping with hammer and the blumt end of a finishing nail. Later, B

^ That's it - I used a small roll pin punch (from Lowe's) and a hammer.

Thanks for the report. Glad you like it. It sure seems like a great pistol.
And the 40s&w cartridge is no slouch.
