E-match

Has anyone considered doing an E-match? Iron Sight Action has a Mosin Target specifically for that...

IronSightAction.com -- Overview

Just a thought, lemme know if interested.

I think we talked about that and some decided to do it. Have not heard a lot about it since. I agreed to shoot but then turn up broke. Guess we should get serious about it.

My only range is in yards, not meters.

ya, our gun club(just joined recently YAY) has indoor range with 2lanes to 100yards, another lane to 25yards, etc, also an outdoor range with the electronic target runners like indoor ranges, the outdoor ones go out to 200yds using the electronic "target retriever-might help ya'll understand what i mean", also manual target changing has 3 lanes that go out to 500yds....that's a long walk, i'm lazy, let's not do that alot....

just tell us what distance, and indoor/outdoor, and i'll see what old betsy'll do....also, is this stand, kneel, prone? shooting bag, stand, bipod, vise? also, what max/min grain ammo? this might prove to be a lot of different levels....hope ya'll got enuff ammo

actually, i say we put the ammo use, the stand/sit/kneel/prone, and the shooting bag/stand/bipod/vise decisions up to vote....since that's technically 3 polls, it might be best to just say ur preference in here. Like so:

I vote:
180-200~ grain.
sit or kneel.
bipod.

^then someone will tally that up^

Ps. sorry to take over ur event, wasn't trying to, that's just an example of what could be done.

So many variables!
Seeing as it's a battle rifle, let's keep the practices to something in keeping.
How about; 100 yards, 5 rounds standing, 5 rounds kneeling or sitting and 10 rounds prone, standard sights, in let's say 2 minutes! Only thing is what target to use?

Just wanted to say, I love Will Rogers! He and Mark Twain (Samuel Clemons) had some of the greatest one liners then or now.

Old Geezer and I will both shoot from 25, though I might have to start out at 15 yards to develop my courage to try to see further. Once you get over 65 you get a handicap don't you?

i'm in. i tried to get a postal match started last month, but only had one person turn in a score.
so Deegs is last months winner!

i'm going to the range this weekend. i'll be turning in targets for scoped at 200 yds with handloads and milsurp. open sights at 200yds with milsurp and maybe some 50 yard targets just for fun.
will we be scoring for points or group size? if points, i'll need to know exactly which targets we need to use. group size would be simple. no special targets involved.

mike, you use your bipod, i'll use a front sandbag on a bench. we'll compare targets. my brothers coming too, so we'll have at least three scoped mosins. i'll shoot 200, 100 and 50. and shoot for groups.
sound o.k?
