NJIT gets $250K to keep developing child-proof `smart gun`
The Department of Justice has awarded a $254,889 federal grant to the New Jersey Institute of Technology so the Newark University can continue developing its child-proof "smart gun" technology, members of New Jersey`s congressional delegation announced today. The funding was added by three anti-gun legislators, U.S. Senators Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-8th District).
That's great, but it's just one more thing to go wrong when you're in need of the firearm. Battery dead, malfunction in recognizing you. Sounds like Judge Dredd to me
I whole heartedly agree! 110% I love my 1911 because it is the epitome of simplicity. There simpler the better, less to go wrong. I've only ever had 1 1911 to fail me, and it had a bad sear, it was my first so I didn't know it, but now I know and when I walk in and buy a used 1911, I take it down to nothing before I purchase it.
