I was typing a response to "Europe..." just now and got ready to post it. As I did, the thread had been moved. And I can't find it anywhere else.
What the heck?! This is about the 10th time this has happened in the past month to me.
Is the site becoming so PC that nothing can be discussed in here? I realize it's a gun site, but a lot of people in here like to discuss other issues, too, with people of common interests.
Maybe the "Powder Keg," suggesting explosive topics, should be called the "Butterfly Sanctuary"--a place people can go to feel good and not get offended.
Seriously, why so PC? Let people write what they want. I'm a huge 2A advocate, but I also support 1A just as much. I would like to see the site A) get rid of the extra-gun forums altogether or B) leave them and quit censoring things so closely. Either way is fine with me, I just get tired of taking time to write my opinion and not being able to post it.
I think most people recognize when the line has been crossed, and those posts should be deleted. But I keep seeing them disappear for no good reason (in my mind)...I think we're being a tad too sensitive. And it's one reason I haven't donated. I had planned on doing it, but I don't like censorship one bit.
I know the concern will be about alienating potential customers...I understand that. I can understand curbing outright and deliberate hate, etc., but people merely expressing their opinions in a respectful manner should not be removed.

usualy they get moved if they r in the wrong forums
I can understand that, but this forum advertises as:
Off topic forum for general conversations not gun related. No Political Topics
I hadn't read all the comments in that thread, but thumbed through it. It seemed to me that it fit the description of what goes here.
I'm just upset that I typed up several paragraphs and wasn't able to post it. It takes time to do that, then *poof* the thread is gone while I'm typing. Now I'm wasting more of my pre-kickoff time to write more (on a topic I didn't want to discuss anyway).
Ugh.

The thread was from 2005! It was completely off topic of the forum, and the user was cursing pretty bad. It was moved to the political forum where it should have been. I don't see this as a 1st Amendment issue...maybe more along the lines of a user error.

Not sure what the issue is?
Well, I don't know when it was from, but I got up this morning, logged in and it was sitting right on top. That's my fault if it was old.
If it was so old (and so off topic), why was it just moved today?
It's just happened to me a number of times, and it gets old. I take time to participate and it gets moved while I'm typing. I'm just unlucky with timing, I guess.
I'm just griping. Disregard.

Contrary to popular belief, internet is not serious business.
I get the gist of that, but you know, my time IS serious. I spent 15 minutes of my morning to write and participate in the forum, and give my opinion. I like being part of G&G.
I have a family, my wife and I both have full-time jobs. When I lose time because the thread is moved while I'm typing--and what I've written is lost--I get a tad irritated.
If that's wrong, I'm sorry.

There is no right to free speech on someone else's dime. You have a right to say whatever you wish, but you do not have a right to make others listen to it.
