This must be stopped now before it escalates farther. Pakistan has a right to defend their borders and we need them on our side. They are well equipped fighting men and experienced mountain fighters. The U.S. has furnished the Pakistan Military between 6 Billion and 10 Billion in foreign aid since the 9-11 attacks here according to the Joint Chiefs. Wunhunglo expressed it very well. Respect their borders.

| Pakistan' border is a very interesting topic
Pakistan has a right to defend it's border. The other side of that coin is they have a right to let in who they want and let us get real - they let Osama and company into the country doing nothing on day one when Osama and company had nothing but tired feet from running. Bhutto's husband is now president. He has a really questionable past when it comes to money under the table for special tasks/favors which is exactly what Osama and company can provide. Also, he did not make deals with America on participating in the so called war on terror. It is a new day in Pakistan. We need to dump the foreign policy view of Pakistan as an ally taking a totally fresh view of the situation as it now exists and is evolving. |

Nathan, Agreed, but we need to go a lot farther than just Pakistan being reviewed as an ally. Pakistan is a good place to start, but I think there's more than a few "allies" we need to look at. Seems like most of them are only our "allies" when someone invades them. |

There has been another attack by an american drone against a terrorist target just inside the Pakistan border. The news states that the attack was a result of shared intelligence between Pakistani & American forces! So what is really happening?

We're far from angels, but we have managed to refrain from the large excesses that we are capable of. We have yet to actually invade another country for the purposes of conquest, and we have been more than capable. We've meddled for our own best interests, we've had proxy wars against enemies, but we still have a better track record than say...China, for instance. I think in this case, we've pushed about as far as other nations are willing to take. We are not incapable of showing some deference, we just usually choose not to. - Coeloptera | |

| Hi YankeeSpirit76
I am totally with you believing the McCain-Palin administration should take a totally painful yet fresh assessment of where we stand with a large number of countries in the world. Many countries (especially third world) have experienced such a turnover of administrative and political leadership they are what they were only in the sense of country name and geographic borders. |
