Aaaaaaaaand score one for freedom.

NewsTalk 1530 KFBK | Coverage You Can Count On

Sagging pants law declared unconstitutional in Florida.

"Circuit Judge Paul Moyle ruled that the law was unconstitutional based on limited facts. However, the charge hasn't been dropped yet and a new arraignment is set for Oct. 5."

How can we have a new arraignment then? I am unfamiliar with how that works.

Kid wasn't even showing any skin, just boxers. This'll hopefully be crushed and we can forget about it and move on.

It's not illegal to look stupid, otherwise guys with ball caps with little stuffed, bikini-clad boobs on them would be rounded up and put in camps.

We seem to do this a lot--pick on an insignificant detail, rather than the crime.

So--gang-bangers wear really baggy pant's low on their butts. I know! we'll solve the problem by banning baggy pants low on the butt!

That's instead of rounding up the Gang-bangers, and doing something really unpleasant to them, when ever the gangs break out the stooopid.

In the 1930s, Deleware resurrected the whipping post to deal with petty crime and gangs. The supreme court upheld it. We could do that again, and solve many, many problems.

Instead, we arrest people for poor fashion choices.

Did you hear about the hispanic girl in Michigan who has been disciplined by her school for wearing a rosary around her neck? I realize that N. European Catholics don't do that--but it's far from a universal practice not to. The school decided it was gang related jewelry. Her Mom gave it to her.

I think this stuff is 'cause people in authority don't have the cajones to deal with the real problems.

Nobody hates those baggy pants more than me, but, as long as their butts aren't hanging out, I'll be gd'ed if If I would obey any law telling me what I can wear.
What's next, a new part of homeland security? We can call it " wardrobe and fashion police".

Or we could get someone with enough cajones to abolish Homeland Security, BATF, DEA, Federal Reserve, and IRS.

They should fine the parents instead. BTW, if it's legal for them to wear their pants hanging off their butts, it should be legal for me to yank'em down when they walk around in the mall.

It's not about poor taste or bad fashion an much as it is about the FREEDOM to be stupid. Gack!! back in the 60's and me with long hair and tie dyed T shirt and water walkers (sandals).

Move over Billy, make room for me.

In Muslim counties they probably cut yer head off for wrapping your towel around your head the wrong way.

I agree it's a completely pointless law that serves no real purpose , other than PC to stop them. But somehow i don't think I want to go to court and explain that i found cocaine and a gun on this guy, and then the defense asks why I stopped his client to begin with and i say " his pants were falling down " i don't think that will stand up to scrutiny. I was , since i became a cop, and still is My goal to keep my name off of ANY supreme court decisions.

Talking

Sorry, I'm on the other side of this.....

They oughta be hit with a hefty fine for "Public Indecency".

Same as fat broads wearing spandex in public. Some things just shouldn't be allowed.

Now, a young hottie showing some whaletail - THAT I will allow......

Billy, we gonna have fun at the lockup. There's a bunch of us who don't much care how we look, as long as our stuff is covered. Count me in on the no fashion crowd!

What's wrong with ball caps with little stuffed, bikini-clad boobs on them?

I don't think that baggy pants would be seen by too many judges as probable cause..lol. But thank you for your service as a police officer.
That makes you one of my hero's, as do all that put on the uniform of a police officer or military.

Ah...but the thing is, if they have boxers beneath, no skin shows, ergo, no indecency. That's the big problem with this law. It arbitrarily picked a style (lots of dumb ones) and declared it illegal based on no merits such as indecency laws.

I swear, it's like declaring leather jackets and ducktails illegal in the 50s.

Do I really have to answer that, bayman1975?

Does it bother you much when you see women with their bras showing outside of their clothing and their boobs are hanging out ? Not me.
