XD sights.

Has anyone tried to drift the back sights on their xd? I have the 40 sub compact and the back sight need to be adjusted. But they are in there good and tight, I mean tight! I've looked at the sight tools but they run around $110.00 dollars! I wanted to make sure i've tried everything before I have to send it back to the company. It has witness marks on the sight and you can see that its off . Its shooting about 3" to the left.

The sights are very hard to move or get off. We generally mill them off and replace them with adjustable one's. If you send it to Springfield it's gonna cost about 150 in shipping. Find a good local gunsmith to change them.

Thanks for the info. I was not aware the cost of shipping was that much! I've never shipped a firearm .

Don't let this discourage you from buying an XD in the future. They are great guns and very reliable. If you're looking to upgrade to improve things give www.tacttec.com a look, i have had some good experiences with the stuff they carry.
