I contacted Rossi by phone and they said that they did not design there hand guns specifically for a scope of any kind BUT HOW SO EVER there should be aftermarket items that should work.

I am sure someone makes a mount, most likely to replace the rear sight like a S&W maybe an S&W could be made to fit find a good smith and ask him.

Hey big boomer thanks for the reply.I will be sure to look up a good gunsmith. We have a gunsmith here but I dont use him.He is not that great from everything I hear.I was a machinist in my younger years for awhile but all I have is a little benchtop drill press and a dial caliper left.I dont have anyway to set it up for drilling and tapping.I am going to probably order the new Rossi 357(972) this week. The only reason I was wanting to set it up that way was to be easier to see what I am shooting at.The old eyes ar not what they used to be.Anything up close like the rear sights and reading I have to have glasses so I can probably have my eye Dr change my eyeglass script.
Again Thanks
WB

Well I finally got ahold of this one gunshop that does shotguns, they gave me a web address to go to and there was the scope mount I was looking for.70 bucks plus shipping but they also said on the site a S&W universal mount would fit where the rear sights were mounted.Just take the rear sights off and use the existing holes.

Nearly any revolver that has a top-rib on the barrel can be drilled and tapped for a Marlin 336 mount base.

The problem here is finding a good gunsmith who is willing to do the job.I found out though that the rear sights are put on with two screws and it is removeable and the scope mount goes on there. The gunshop where I will be ordering it from helped me look up what I needed after I had found the mount at b-square.com.I live in a little rural town in the edge of the ozarks, only 9000 people. The closest city with any population is about 95 miles one way.Being on a fixed income I cant just run to one of those bigger gunshops or gunsmiths.I was glad I found out I did not have to.

Wild Bill

I have a Rossi 357 and have also been looking for scope mounts.

What is the web site that you found this information?
