new .22

I got a Stevens Model 125 with an Armsport 4x15 scope. I bought a 4x40 scope to put on it and some Blazer .22 ammo. I sighted it in at 25 or so yards for squirrels. Is there anything else that I would need for it? Possibly a gun cleaning kit or any type of modding?

+1 on the cleaning kit.. Also maybe some type of cleaning rag/solution/lens covers for that scope. I would go for 50yds personally...Keep the action and chamber clean and it should outlast you...Good luck

I just sighted it in on Remington .22 shorts. I missed a shot at a squirrel.

squirrels are harder than you think. The head is a small and often moving target.
I would reccomend LR cartridges for that though.

I used a bobby pin tied to fishing line and a piece of a sock soaked in lubricant and pulled it through the barrel, then pulled a clean sock through it. Not a speck in it!!!

That's practically a .22 cal Bore Snake cleaning kit...that's all you need besides a little Hoppes Gun Oil.

I gotta admit tho...the brush they intergrate into the Bore Snake is pretty nice...I LOVE mine.

I agree with the 22 long rifle. I've shot Shorts and am not impressed at all with them. I prefer longs any time.

ya the model 60 needs a lot power to reload so its going to do that. if you want to use a shell with low power try and use Remington subsonics they work great in my marlin model 60

Ya I didnt realize at the time that my gun was a long rifle only but now usually I use Federal 550 cube ammo. When my scope shows up I will problulby try to start using a lil better ammo. Not sure yet what im ganna try but we will see I might buy a few diffrent boxes next pay day and see what kind my gun likes best.

I also have a 22 that someone tried converting the bore to a magnum, and the barrel is 16,18" Can it be repaired?

I'll wait for the leaves to fall off, and then I'll sight the gun in on LRs. A Squirrelslayer!
