Our new kitty, saved from death!!!

Lefthandshooter wanted to see pictures of the kitten, I found abandoned, two days ago, so here they are! The poor littlething was the sole survivor ofit's litter, which had been dropped, one by one, in the middleof the road, from a moving vehicle. If I'd have seen the jerk in action, I'd have whupped him, and then turned him over to the police. I don't understand how some people can be so inhumane! But, at least this one has a goodhome, now. She will be my weapon of mouse destruction, in the shop, when she grows up!

Those are great pictures Scotty. She should make you a really nice pet since you are now her "MOMMA". I salute you for getting up and feeding her.

CGO started calling her "Mattie", don't ask me why. But she did say, that if we're wrong about the gender, we can shorten it to "Matt"! You know how kittens are, they change their gender, when your back is turned! I think she'll make a great mouser, when she grows up. She's already frisky, for only five weeks, and I'm amazed she survived the fall from the vehicle, and the time on the road. There were dead kittens on both sides of her, seventy yards apart. That's why I came tothe conclusion that they'd been dropped, one by one, from a car.

Did you call the police? That's happened here in Denver and it is a severe crime punishable by fines and jailtime. They even put it on the news occassionally....people dropping baby animals from moving vehicles....one couple of idiots even went as far as lighting a cat on fire and dropping it from the vehicle. Idiots should be thrown from a moving bullet train, see how they like it. The fiery cat...he survived.

And, did you read my reply in the other thread? I wasn't talkin' bad bout you, ya know...

CGO took it upon herself, to name the newcomer. I guess, since I saved her, my job was done, except for getting up, all night, to feed the little vagabond. Anyway, CGO thought about it, and came up with a name we can use, even if she turns into he. LOL!

You done good, Scotty. Enjoy your new "weapon of mouse destruction."

There is a special place in hell waiting for people who do things like that to helpless animals. There must be some kind of jerk-behavior going around; we found our Thomasina (who, being a males, goes by Tommy) at the side of the interstate back in June, with no other cats, kittens or houses anywhere around. Our vet calls him "the miracle kitty," since if we hadn't rescued him the way you did your Mattie, he'd have died.

I took the same road this morning that Seabee found her at and there were dead kittens scattered everywhere.I didn't want another animal to raise but now she/he is apart of the family.

If I could have gotten ahold of the a$$ who did this to the kittens I would be in jail.It sure makes me sick when people do things like this..!!

My wife got our Foxy like that. It was storming one night and this kitty launched herself up on her screen door screaming her lungs out. She was bones and she had a collar on her neck so tight she couldn't hardly cut it off with scissors. She has been the best kitty in the world. Those kind of suckers need to pay. Always stay in the yard, and wakes us up if there is a storm. Best kid I ever had. Animals have never sinned, think about that.

We now have two kittens about 8 or 9 weeks old. I just wish I had half the energy that they have. They are both wound tight. We have an old Tom that comes and goes. When he comes in the house to eat the kittens are on him like white of rice.

Scotty when your kitten gets a little older get yourself a laser pointer and watch it go crazy trying to catch it. Its a good way to let them get some exercise..Enjoy your new furry friend.

Sad thing is, if they can be that cruel to animals, they're generally just as cruel if not more cruel to humans.

You done good bringing it home seabee.

By the way, if it's male, get it fixed otherwise it will spray it's territory in your shop as well...If it's a she, get it fixed so you don't or won't have to deal with more kittens.

I know you said she in your initial post, but I'm not sure if checked or if that's just your ole habit of navy jargon kicking in, as you called ships she? lol, or if indeed she's a she?

And I just noticed, your kitten looks like Windwalker's avatar.

the same thing happened to us a few years ago up turkey hunting .. we were out in the middle of nowhere . nearest house was 7 miles away.. we came accross a dead kitten in the middle of a dirt road.. we pulled off onto a 2 track and parked. we were getting ready to hunt somemore and hear comes a kitten running threw the woods at the truck. i picked it up a and put it inside the back and went out hunting.. came back a few hours latter it was sleeping on 1 of the kids jacket.. we took it to a store where some nice ladys run it and asked if they could find a home for it .. we went back a few hours latter and was asking about it and they said that a farmer wanted it . it was about 4 weeks old.. we brought it home .. we named it forest... she looks just like califgirlinco avator.
