stolen car Update!

UPDATE: My car was found today when they guy driving it was pulled over for having phoney plates on the car, anyhow i have to wait to pick it up out of the impound yard till the police are finished with their investigation, but i was told they should be finished by with that part in a few days, the only real bummer is i need to replace a the ignition where they mangled it when they stole it.
But i'm glad to have my car back.

I'm glad you got it back. I just love a happy ending. Did the thief go to jail?

I have forgotten the specifics of your original thread; will insurance cover it?

Wow, did the cops do their job for a change? That rarely happens around here.......LOL

Real happy for ya 8mm. Sure sucks that you won't be relying on the Porsche (drueling now....)

snake: yeah they're in jail all 4 of 'em, the arrest report says they were acting suspisious when the cruiser pulled up next to them, so he dropped in behind them and ran the plates, turns out my plates had been removed and those of another car placed on it.
but that's the least pf their problems, as they're also in on drug charges on top of car theft.
1* no i only have liabiltiy as i'm a pretty safe driver and here in Kalifornia you can't register the car unless you have insurrance.
But it's no big deal to put the ignition in it's just the steering collumn is some what damaged and they tried to steal my CD player out of the console but couldn't get it out and that's really tore up in there where they pried on it.

Sounds like a rookie boost job. But looking back at your original thread, they were either pro's or totally lucky based off the speed in which the job was executed.

Stolen plates are always funny. I run the plate on an Accord, and it comes back as registered to an F-150. Kind of a give away! Lights go on. Gun comes out on the spot.

Ask the cops to let them cuffed (one by one) alone in a cell with you and a telephone directory for 5 min each.

Most of the vehicles stolen around here end up in the forestry as a burnt out shell, idjuts pinch them and then don't know what to do with them, so they take them into the forest and hammer around untill the motor blows and then fire them and walk away. hasn't happened very often, to far to wlk home I spose, lazy a-holes.

8MM,

Ask the police for a detailed report with the specifics of the drugs involved (and any other illegal activity they know the car may have been used in) in case you need it later on.

Also, take photos of the car, inside and outside, before you remove it from the impound lot. Make sure you get photos of any damage in case there's an insurance dispute (all damage is not always detailed in the police report....just what is important to their case).

Do your own search of the vehicle as soon as you can (preferrably when you get home). If you find anything the police didn't, notify them and ask for a copy of a report addendum on it.
