The Greatest Play In Baseball - Rick Monday Saves U.S. Flag
Due to my age and the fact that I'm not a big fan of baseball, this is the first time I've seen this. I'm sure it's old news for a lot of you, but I thought it was really cool and wanted to share it.
If you've seen it before, it's a pleasant reminder and if it's new to you then I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
I remember seeing that before. Is it just me, or did we just stop making Americans like that? I know some, but not a lot. Most everyone is (a)pathetic these days.
I hope nobody ever tries to burn a flag near me. I'll probably end up in jail. After 20 years of saluting it and taking care of it, burning the flag is one part of "free speech" I don't subscribe to. This country has done more good and given more freedom to people than any civilization in the planet's history, despite any other shortcomings. There are other ways to protest besides desecrating the very thing that so many people have died to protect.
And no, that whole "they died so you could burn it" argument doesn't hold water with me. Nobody I ever served with felt like we protected our freedom so people could burn its symbol. Nobody I ever knew, anyway.

Thats awesome!! Never seen that before, thanks New_Glory!! I wish he would have punched those hippies.
Or it woulda been cool if they caught themselves on fire!!!
Im all about seeing a hippie get punched or catch on fire.
I hate to break into your fantasies, but I have to tell you: the average hippie was not a flag-burning, radical jerk. Most of them were pretty mellow people.

Damn, that's the month I survived a head on collision, in Scotland. It was a bad year, for this fella. Two months after that, I ended up in the hospital, with a shattered left arm.
Hi, Troy, where are we!??

Never mind where we are, Scotty. What year is it? I get a little fuzzy, sometimes...
Although I remember the incident, I couldn't remember exactly when it happened. So I looked it up on Wikipedia, and learned a couple of interesting things: the would-be flag burners were a father and son team, and Rick Monday still has the flag he saved.
